A tog’s blog
Hello, World! Again? I guess?
If this is your first time here, welcome! I’m Federico, Argentinian music photographer living in Dublin since 2019. I collaborate regularly with Irish independent outlet The Thin Air, Europe-wide promoter live tonite, music blog Kul Britania, and other bands and music projects in Dublin. I am available for live shows, press shots, video, touring, you name it. That’s the TL;DR. That, and that I live and breathe and love music.
For about 20 years now I’ve been in and out of photography —I’ve studied formally in Buenos Aires in 2010, until life got in the way and forced me out of the arts somehow. I never lost that kick for visuals, photography always above the rest, and after a lot of twists and turns of destiny, moving houses a few times inside Buenos Aires, then moving across the Atlantic… photography pulled me back in. I decided to buy a very handy Fujifilm X-T30 “just to mess around”, and before I knew it I started frequenting clubs and pubs and other venues with my tiny kit. I have frankly terrible social skills, but the camera both shielded that shy side of me and bonded me with other photographers and music enjoyers in general who appreciated my way of translating what I see, and hear, and feel, onto the visual plane. I don’t take for granted how hard it is to translate those codes, but I try my best to keep learning about both new (to me) visual techniques and new (to me!) genres and artists. Slowly I’ve been building connections with fellow photographers with the sensitivity to see behind my shyness, media outlets both in my current home Dublin and back in Buenos Aires, and although I can’t point out a single moment where there was no way back… there really isn’t now.
It’s been a while since I revamped my online portfolio. Partly because of procrastination, although really I’ve been fairly busy lately. You’re now my accountability partner to push me into keeping this updated, give you insights into press coverage I do, gigs I’ve been to recently, and pretty much anything that comes to mind that will help me show the true self hiding behind my normal ‘resting visual-artist-overthinking-the-next-step face’.
Thanks you for saying hi in that venue, or grabbing that card, or scanning that QR code, or whatever got you here. Let’s have a bit of fun!
